It is a short novel, perfect for a plane trip or relaxing day on the beach or any other time you need a break from the daily grind. Nutt does an excellent job at making the writer feel the attraction between them as well as the peril they face. The magnetism between Eli and Ryden, the human Eli has fallen for, is immediately apparent. She even lists books and websites to go to for more information. I also really enjoyed the bonus material at the end giving a synopsis of the various Nephilim (angels) and Grigori (the fallen) written about in the ancients texts she references. The characters are younger than those written in those ancient texts, which gives her the freedom of developing her own characters and personalities but their world and its rules follow the doctrine.

She has based her terminology and paranormal history on the Torah, the Book of Enoch and the Dead Sea Scrolls. Nutt truly impressed me with the amount of background research she has done for her books Eli being the first in the Warriors for the Light series. Despite much disagreement within the council of elders for the fallen angels, he is sentenced to prove the human is his soul mate by returning to earth before they met and making her fall in love with him all over again before midnight on Hallowe’en which is the following night.Īll of this is made more complicated by the fact that someone or something is trying to kill him to ensure that he is not able to prove that the Grigori have a soul and can, therefore, find a soul mate. What is worse, he has been caught and now must suffer the consequences. Karen Michelle Nutt is no stranger to the paranormal romance genre which you can easily tell reading her novel “Eli: Warriors for the Light”.Įli is half angel, half human and has broken all the cardinal rules of the Grigori not the least of which are never fall in love with a human and never ever reveal ones true self to a human. I'm so thrilled with Eli: Warriors for the Light's review from TCM! Thank you Kristin!
